If you find that your door wont open or close and is stuck, crooked in the opening, do not try to use it! You could have a broken cable or it may have jumped off of the drum. These cables are under extreme tension and should only be repaired by someone familiar with garage door springs.

Cracked sections are never a good thing. If let go, they can become an even bigger problem. Sometimes smaller cracks can be taken care of so you can continue to enjoy your current garage door. In other cases you can replace the sections affected and in more extreme cases the entire door will need replaced.
